Youtube claims that videos that violate rules represent less than 0.2% of views
Measurement looks at the percentage of video views that violate site policies. The most recent figure is between 0.16% and 0.18%, said Youtube, about the last quarter of 2020.
Youtube started to disclose on Tuesday (6) a new data about content considered harmful on the platform.
“This means that for every 10,000 views on YouTube, 16 to 18 of them are videos that violate our policies,” said the company, which is part of the Alphabet group, the same as Google.
Compared to the same period in 2017, when monitoring started, the rate of viewing harmful content is 70% lower, YouTube said.
The count is called the Violative View Rate (VVR), which starts to be updated every 3 months in the YouTube Guidelines Report, available online.
The company says that 94% of content that violates guidelines is detected using automatic flagging, and 75% of videos are removed before receiving 10 views.
